Post Apocalyptic Story Maps

Dreadnought Airship

This colossal airship drew inspiration from the zeppelins utilized in the Second World War, incorporating numerous enhancements and upgrades.

Dreadnought was meticulously constructed using predominantly salvaged military-grade materials, including titanium, aluminum, bulletproof glass, and NASA-grade fireproof canvas. Despite its immense size, measuring 800 feet in length, the airship surprisingly possessed a lightweight structure primarily due to its titanium skeleton. The central area of the airship housed the main operation and living quarters, strategically positioned to ensure optimal balance and spacious accommodation for over 100 individuals, with 50 dedicated to the crew. In addition to its arsenal and passenger capacity, the airship was capable of carrying an additional 22,000 pounds of cargo, provided it could be accommodated within its cargo holds. By relying on hybrid propellers, predominantly powered by solar energy, the airship was capable of sustained flight for several months at a consistent speed of 100 mph. However, its true speed potential became evident with its two upgraded Pratt & Whitney PW4056 ® Mark III engines, enabling it to achieve an impressive speed of 450 mph at high altitudes. Nevertheless, it should be noted that the airship's maneuverability was limited, and the enhanced speed feature primarily served as a means of retreat rather than pursuit in hazardous situations.

The airship provided comprehensive amenities for the comfort of its crew and inhabitants, offering facilities such as barracks, living quarters, a restaurant, individual bathrooms and showers, recreational rooms, and more. While its primary function was that of a mothership, housing war rooms, communication and engine rooms, maintenance tunnels, and an observation deck, the most remarkable feature of the airship was its Fighter Plane Hangar. Within this hangar, Dreadnought carried four high-speed fighter jets, two long-range warplanes, and two substantial bombers, ensuring its readiness for both air-to-air and air-to-ground battles.

Dreadnought's Arsenal

Guardian Autocannons

Dreadnought carried eight 40mm remote control high impact cannons, capable of firing 220 rounds per minute. These cannons were automatically supplied with ammunition from the carrier's storage transportation unit, which held an ample supply of 40mm high impact rounds for the weapons. Each pair of cannons was operated by a human pilot stationed in both the tail and head observation decks of the airship. The front section of Dreadnought housed two cannons, while an additional two cannons were positioned in the mid-front area. The remaining four cannons were located at the rear of the airship.

Martyr Miniguns

A total of twelve man-controlled, 7.62 mm Gatling rotary machine guns were positioned along the mid-front to the front section of the carrier. Each machine gun had a firing rate of 3,500 rounds per minute and featured an individual ammunition reserve located beneath its platform, capable of holding up to 35,000 bullets.

Hellbringer Battle Cannons

The carrier was meticulously designed to accommodate two human-piloted battle cannons, each capable of simultaneously firing two high explosive mini rockets at a rate of 75 rounds per minute. These rockets were equipped with built-in radio wave receivers, granting the pilot limited control over their trajectory adjustments. With a dual-stage explosive charge, the rockets inflicted devastating damage upon impact, featuring a fragmentation effect upon their secondary detonation. To enhance their speed, the rockets were equipped with short-term afterburner thrusters, enabling them to accelerate to Mach-2 (1,290 mph) within a matter of seconds. Beneath the base of each Hellbringer, a feeding station was positioned, capable of holding up to 1,500 rockets.

The battle cannons demonstrated remarkable agility, offering a horizontal rotation of 150° and a vertical rotation of 60° at an impressive speed.

Hermes Drones

The carrier housed a total of ten battle drones, complemented by a self-charging station. Each drone possessed a flight duration of up to one hour when operating with a fully charged battery and could cover a distance of 5 miles before losing the GPS signal. In such cases, the drone would autonomously return to its charging station if not manually controlled. Each drone was armed with a 5mm anti-personnel machine gun and carried a high explosive bomb, providing the option for self-destruction upon impact or by pilot command. Additionally, the drones featured a small, sealed chemical weapon storage compartment capable of accommodating various liquid or gas substances.

The drones were under the control of pilots stationed at the Battle Station Alpha of the Dreadnought. Spare drones were stored in the robotic lab and could be swiftly deployed within minutes if the need arose.

Valkyrie: Light Class Fighter

Dreadnought housed a total of four Valkyries, which served as lightweight jet fighters specifically designed to safeguard the airship against airborne adversaries. These agile planes relied on their speed and maneuverability to outmaneuver enemy aircraft. Featuring four flexible wings and independent flaps, the Valkyries possessed enhanced dexterity, while their three simultaneous thrusters propelled them to speeds of up to Mach-2 (1,290 mph). Each plane was armed with two 5mm miniguns, enabling a firing rate of 2,000 rounds per minute. In order to maintain optimal weight efficiency, the Valkyrie accommodated a single pilot and a limited ammunition capacity of 10,000 bullets. With a full tank of fuel, the Valkyrie could achieve a maximum flight range of 1,800 miles.

Hades: Long Range Warplane

Dreadnought boasted the inclusion of two Hades planes within its aircraft complement. These mid-class warplanes were specifically designed for long-distance flights, boasting an impressive range of 10,000 miles when fueled to capacity. The Hades planes were equipped with four Hellfire missiles, featuring a high-explosive warhead and a secondary napalm effect, suitable for both air-to-air and air-to-land engagements. With the ability to reload the missiles twice, each pilot had a total of 12 missile shots at their disposal. The Hades planes were armed with a 25mm armor-piercing machine gun, capable of firing 600 rounds per minute, delivering devastating impact to both airborne and ground targets. The machine gun boasted an immense ammunition capacity of 20,000 bullets, which had the capability to penetrate tank armor with notable accuracy.

Featuring three independent fuel tanks— one in the lower body and two on the wings— the Hades planes could utilize them simultaneously. The aircraft accommodated two pilots and two passengers within its design. Due to its focus on long-distance capabilities, the Hades plane sacrificed some agility and could be easily outmaneuvered by lighter fighter planes. Pilots had to exercise caution in positioning themselves against adversaries, as the Hades plane had limited evasive capabilities when under fire from behind.

B20 - Hercules: Bomber Class Warplane

Dreadnought holds 2 Hercules planes that are used in the most desperate situations. These extremely bulky but strong bombers can handle a great deal of damage before they fall. They can fly up to 4,400 miles with a full tank and can go as fast as 680 mph. Along with its thick armor, Hades holds enough arsenal to destroy a small country. It engages in combat with 6 Hellfire missiles that can be reloaded 5 times (36 missiles in total). It also wields a Vindicator Minigun that fires a bulletstorm of 5,000 rounds per minute with a total capacity of 35,000 bullets. However, the most impressive weapon Hades has is the Doombringer missiles. These are unguided missiles that hold a Nuclear Warhead and can be fired air-to-air or air-to-land. Pilots can set the nuclear blast yield of the bomb prior to releasing the missiles to either 2 kilotons (for air) or 18 kilotons (for land). Hades carries 2 of these dirty bombs which can be used to change the course of the battle. Thanks to its lead alloyed thick armor, pilots can escape the explosion unharmed. The bomber can hold 2 pilots, 2 crew and 3 passengers.

Is it possible if I could get the full resolution banner image? It isn't included in the downloads of the pack. Excellent work though, thanks!

Hey friend. Let me try to download here if it works. This is the highest resolution I have unfrotunately. I'm not sure if it's good enough for printing tho:

Hey man I lost our chat somehow on here.  I got behind with other projects, but I started working on this again in Foundry if you want to collaborate more on the full one-shot idea.

Operation Icarus in The Great Dust Bowl | World Anvil

Omg looks spectacular. Let me know how I can contribute!

Hi

I purchased this set but there is only single PNG of ship.

Where are all assets of smnaller ships and empty version to for example set hangar as i would like?

Hey friend, that's actually a good point. I'll make those changes and reupload. Since you bought you should be able to download them for free. I'll update you from here once I do. Cheers!

Hey again,

I've added an empty hangar version and all fighters in PNG format for you to freely play. Please note that this is not an executable version of a map editor but a graphical asset. You won't be able to change things freely without a photoshop still.

Hi Xecthar

Do you perhaps know what is the issue with map?

When i open Dreadnought map it's in very poor resolution, but after a while it changes to like "correct" resolution but with weird straps on that.

Other ships files are just fine and there is problem only with main map, do you perhaps know what's going on?

hey mate, please note that this image is 214 mb size which is extremely big for some computers. Not knowing your computer specs, it might be due multiple reasons:

  1. Your computer memory is not enough to handle. If so, let me know I'll email you a bi smaller version.
  2. The program you're using to open these JPEG files might be not compatible. Try Windows default image viewer.
  3. Your graphic card drivers might be outdated or too low memory to handle the image.
  4. Your computer might have an u know issue, in this case please try to open it in another device, even a phone should be OK.

Please let me know if you can't resolve the issue. I'll try to email you some different versions

Hi

Teh image is still off in every case

Could you try to send me other versions on prometeuszv3@gmail.com

Hi mate

Can you please send me smaller versions by email?

I also opened it on my laptop and phone and it is not working anywhere, and in this quality it's unusable.

Hey mate, just recently found your work in my quest to find Fallout DnD maps. Firstly, really amazing work! The attention to detail and effort is palpable in all of the maps you've made. I'm just curious what you use to create your maps as I'm interested in learning how to use it to create very specific maps in my campaign.

Thanks!

hey friend, thanks a lot for your beautiful words. I'm using Dungeondraft because I have the ability to find tons of assets or create my own if I need to. It's a bit inconvenience to use since the UI is not the best and you need to deal with the lightning mostly manually but still a worthwhile choice. And the best function is that you buy onetime and you have the program and all future updates forever.

I'll have a look at it. Thanks again :)
